The Knowledge of Sin

In this week’s Shovel-Audio, Adam and I discuss how the Law only reveals the knowledge of sin but has no power to do anything about it. Because of this, all we are left with is guilt, fear and shame … and the religious mind has exploited this effect of the Law and has used it to create a facade by which to motivate millions. Are you being exploited right now?

You will find a whole discussion on Romans 7 about half way through. I think it’s worth checking out!

Hi! I was reading in Acts, chapter 2 this morning and when I came to verse 12, I realized this is how I am with this new realization about God’s grace. In my King James Bible that verse says, “And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?” They were amazed yet they still doubted. There are many times I don’t doubt this one bit but there are still those other times when I wonder. It seems too good to be true!! I think you both probably understand. Thanks for your help.

Hello dear friend,

Thanks for responding! I most certainly understand what you mean by "but there are still those other times when I wonder" ... oh yeah, for sometimes I am also struck by how insane it is to even consider the invisible kingdom in which we truly live. After all, most of those I rub shoulders with every day would probably dismiss it out of hand, while the many who claim to believe it still balk at the reality of this grace. In truth, we stand alone ... but alone together in Christ. And that togetherness is also amazing.

Jim :)

Great verse, Visitor … thanks for sharing. Nergo

How do we keep reading the words meant as freedom from law and from a life based upon the principles as found in the world as if they were promoting it?   source
