I grew up in a Lutheran Church in Virginia, but after moving to Florida in 1971 my sister and I couldn't stand the formality of the one near our new home. We got involved in a coffeehouse that was hosted by the First Baptist of Delray, FL and from there joined the youth choir and then the Church. We also got involved in a local youth outreach program where I went to one of their youth seminars in Asheville, NC for a long weekend. From there I decided to go to the Bible College (non-denominational). It was all about soul-winning which was pretty much how everything was judged. I graduated from the school and got ordained in the local off-shoot church near my home. I stayed involved in youth ministry.

Long story shortened: dissatisfaction drove me to pursue real meaning to Christianity which resulted in a mutually agreed upon break with the group. I continued to have studies in my home for years, got involved in small churches, had a Christian rock and roll band, etc. There's much more to the story, but you can get an idea of how things have gone. One thing is for sure: the more I have seen and proclaimed the truth of the gospel of Christ, the more I am ignored by the system. But as I am not looking to be established in the system I am learning instead to take advantage of the interaction of life that happens right in front of me ... and it is always there. It's just not what I had expected it to be. Do I still wonder if I'm missing something? Sure, but, in truth, I have everything and am missing nothing.
