Reality or Psycho-babble?

What if we're merely attempting to hype ourselves into believing something that is simply not true? Admit it, you've considered this more than a few times. I know so because you've told me so. In fact, many, many times. But I really know it because my own heart has questioned the same thing countless times. And I don't want to be taken for a ride on this one. Do you know what I mean?

Then again, do we dare reveal these kinds of doubts? After all, wouldn't such admissions constitute unbelief? And if we're not believing are we really even saved? But if it's not true then this “salvation” is bogus anyway! Maybe this is why we usually push those questions back - way back - and then pretend they're not there.

I say it's time to let these fears be exposed for what they are. For if the truth of “Christ in you” is real then it is able to answer itself. Let me restate that. If the truth of Christ in you is real then it has been answering itself all along. Why are we not aware of this ongoing inner validation? Simple: the fears we suppress reinterpret what we hear.

But let's step back for just a moment and consider the fundamental principle behind self-talk: it is EMBEDDED into the nature of the empty life of humanity. No, neither the religious nor psychological world holds the copyright on this, they merely refined an already established tradition. That's right, every one of us developed our own complex system of an inner, ongoing psycho-babble whereby our every thought, word and action was guided. Basically, we learned how to lie to ourselves and to our world so that we could view ourselves and hope to be viewed in the best light possible. The voice of this inner-psychologist has become so automatic that we don't even notice it until we have to make an adjustment.

Then entered the miraculous. For even though we often refer to how God “prepared” our hearts to hear the good news, in reality NOTHING could have prepared us for what was to come. It's not because the gospel presented some higher form of understanding - as in difficult - but one that was completely foreign to every basic principle we ever learned in this world. What happened to us is that the very premise of our existence changed right underneath us.

Then re-entered the flesh's viewpoint - and with it, an incredible conflict. It's one thing to have a perception shift, it's another to have the dead attempt to re-interpret what can only be understood by the life that emerged on the other side of death. But that sure doesn't hinder the flesh from trying anyway! And the very best attempt of the fleshly religious mind merely converts Christ into a program based on that same old psycho-babble.

Should it come as a surprise when something within us doubts a Christianity that must be created and maintained by trying to believe it? Could it be that faith has absolutely nothing in common with the flesh's reinterpretation of it? Oh, maybe you'll disagree with my assessment - and that's okay by me - but if Christ is in you then the REAL you will still have a problem with such a fleshly excuse for the new miraculous life we have in Christ.

The above quote is especially good and especially important! : )

IDENTIFYING ... EXPOSING ... RECOGNIZING ... DISTINGUISHING!

We are afraid of the fears we are aware of, and shocked by fears that come to the surface that we were not even aware of before. We are afraid of fear itself. We are afraid because of so many verses taken out of context and used to beat us up with until our hearts are bloody and raw and in agony, and then we fear even more.

It is a very good thing to be secure in our New Identity and realize that MOST fears come from the INsecurity we have been wallowing in and perpetuating for sooo long ... fears based on deception and lies that we have fed ourselves and each other.

The GOOD NEWS of CHRIST, which is also OUR GOOD NEWS because of HIM and our NEW IDENTITY in HIM, is the only thing that soothes the pain of so much insanity and insecurity that we endure.

Thank you for always bringing our attention back to our NEW REALITY in HIM ... that REALITY that is ours for now and forever more! : )

This article IS the Spirit of Jesus Christ in us and not an imposter holding the hand of the spirit of the World and it's father. This wisdom is spiritual, not wordly, and not of the Devil...rather of Jesus THE SAVOIR OF THE WORLD!!!I see this Pshcologist [the spirit of this world] stealing, and killing most of the sheep and it is very disheartening ....yet it speakes all day long to us...and acts as if it is US!We are not that deathly wisdom on the side of the "author of fear",we are the mind of Christ, whom is the author of Truth and Love ....and these 2 are opposites and are in conflict however Jesus is Greater!!!!

JIM SAID : “What if we’re merely attempting to hype ourselves into believing something that is simply not true?” You know I DO very much know what you are saying here. I too have heard this question asked in so many ways by Christians. I too have admittedly struggles with the question. I wonder if the questions arise[or have the opportunity to rise] from putting our dependence on something that was elemental in nature to begin with? JIM SAID: “Then again, do we dare reveal these kinds of doubts? After all, wouldn’t such admissions constitute unbelief? And if we’re not believing are we really even saved?” That is indeed a DARING question when we finally hear ourselves ask it. That sense of sincerity pulses through our veins and we can not help but, confess the truth of our questions at least inside our own minds. Yeah, and based on the earthly ‘faith’ and salvation mind set we were taught, why WOULDN’T we be compelled to fear losing it all? JIM SAID: “Should it come as a surprise when something within us doubts a Christianity that must be created and maintained by trying to believe it? Could it be that faith has absolutely nothing in common with the flesh’s reinterpretation of it?” I mean that is the million dollar question. It totally reminds me of the things that Paul was found saying to the Corinthians. Here he had been the tool of God, preached the Gospel and God made them alive! Then others came and tried laying another foundation[elemental wisdom]that made sense to the natural logic they were raised in. It only provided cloudy formations and dead fruit.

this is as good this morning as it was ELEVEN YEARS ago!!  :)

the mind of the world is all about hype and psych, isn't it?  and when it gets bled into the church, well … most of us have all been victims and offenders of that mentality and all that it creates and perpetuates.  nothing of the Spirit, that is for sure.

but thanks be to GOD WHO breaks through all those walls of bondage through the mind of Christ and His very Spirit Who has given us His Life and DOES LIVE in and through us, regardless of outward appearances, circumstances and situations!!  :)

thank GOD thank GOD thank GOD!!   :)

Random Shovelquote: Putting Christianity into Practice? (view all shovelquotes)

At one time, the idea of putting my Christianity into practice sounded reasonable. All I can hear now is a religious attempt to make God happen in your life. source
