Saved if you hold fast?
Submitted by theshovelWe kicked off the evening with a question about psychics and mediums. Rather than jump into the realm of astrology, I opted to discuss some of the practical similarities found within the Christian religion. And I’m referring to the deceptive religious practices of many Christians, not to the living truth of Christ. From there, I dove into a Bible passage considered by many as a problem passage:
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast (KJV, if ye keep in memory) the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 NASB
So, if we are saved and kept by grace through faith, as Paul teaches elsewhere, did he really tell the Corinthians that their salvation could be lost by not holding fast or keeping in memory what Paul had preached to them? Join us to hear what I believe is a very important message.
