Preaching Ourselves or Preaching Christ?

What does the preaching of oneself mean, and how does it relate to why Moses covered his shining face after speaking with God? What if most of our struggles come from trying to hold onto the ministry of death rather than the ministry of life?

For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. 2 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away.

I’m afraid many Christians have grown so hide-bound that their very thoughts of God and of salvation in Christ are word-oriented rather than life-oriented. Could that be why we think in terms of intellectual-based learning when it comes to the Bible?source
