Judgment Seat of Christ
Are you afraid of what awaits you at the Judgment Seat of Christ? Do you dread the Day of the Lord? Are you terrified at the prospect of having your sins put on display so that all can witness how well you really performed? What rewards will the fire reveal for you when you stand before Jesus Christ at the Bema Seat: Gold, Silver, and Precious Stones … or maybe Wood, Hay, and Stubble? Are you looking forward to your own mansion in heaven located near Jesus’ own … or do you merely hope for a rundown shack in the slums of the kingdom?
How well I remember those ups and downs I experienced as I anticipated the outcome of how well I thought I served the Lord. I often preached on the judgment seat of Christ, for I encouraged others to know the terror of the Lord and serve the Lord faithfully. If you are like me, then you have struggled with fear and insecurity in the hopes that Jesus Christ might tell you,
Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:23
I desire that your fear of standing before God in judgment might be turned to joy. I want you to understand that your performance is not the basis of what Jesus Christ thinks about you.
