The Fire Keeps on Burning
Submitted by theshovelThe Fire Keeps on Burning
There’s a wind that blows as the thunder rolls through the storm clouds of my soul
There’s a wind that falls through the raging squalls hiding that which makes me whole
But the fire keeps on burning through the storm
From the deepest gloom of an empty room I am filled with thoughts unknown
Battered by the the force as it runs its course still the flame has further grown
And that fire keeps on burning through the storm
Though the house turns cold as the night grows old still the morning waits ahead
Darkness penetrates, hope anticipates, longs to see the dawn instead
In the corridors, there’s a cry that soars, piercing far beyond the skies
Through the dark one’s reach, someone hears my speech bringing light before my eyes
And the fire keeps on burning through the storm
