When I was dead in my sins and shame, I hid from the light - I couldn’t bear the blame
Darkness had covered every evil deed, my blindness convinced me - no need to be freed
Walking in the darkness - I thought it was light - but death was my master, sin was my life
Piercing through the darkness came the light - the word of the gospel gave me my sight

“Come out, come out!” just like he said
Take off those graveclothes, you’re no longer dead
You’ve been living like a corpse too long
Wake up, sleeper, put your new clothes on

Out of the darkness and into the light, God raised me from death by His power and might
The man that I was has been left in the tomb - I’m freed from the bondage of sin and doom
Every now and then the old thoughts revive (my mind’s in the grave, I forget I’m alive)
My new living garments, I cast them aside; the death rags that shame me are worn with pride

“Come out, come out!” just like he said
Take off those graveclothes, you’re no longer dead
You’ve been living like a corpse too long
Wake up, sleeper, put your new clothes on

My question to you is this: Is Christ himself enough validation for you? source
