The Shovel Shack is an interactive forum designed for YOU to share in the reality of our freedom in Christ with others who visit.  If you have been stimulated by the good news of Christ here on the shovel web site I would love to hear about it – and I know others would as well!  You can post your own comments or reply to what has been posted ... or simply join in by reading along.

If you're not sure what this freedom is all about you're in a good place to observe it in action.  You are not required to agree with everything I've written, especially since I don't always agree with everything I've written!  :)  I do ask that your posts be real expressions of your heart with a view to understanding how the good news of Christ fits into everything you are, think and do.

How To Participate

Registering

If you just want to browse through the Shack you are more than welcome to do so.  BUT if you want to join in and post your own thoughts you will have to register first.  Don't worry, it's painless and should not cause any harmful side-effects!   :)  When you register you will enter a "user name" - this can be your real name or a nick-name - (The user name cannot be changed, so choose carefully, though you can re-register under a new user name).  You can also choose to be automatically logged in when you visit the Shack.  Once you register a profile will be created so that you can make certain changes (no other members will have access to your profile or your hidden info).

Email Options

You will not be required to give your email address, but you will not be able to take advantage of the automatic email notifications without inputing it.  You can always change this at a later time in the "Edit Profile" section - which is easily accessible when you are logged in.  If you do include your email address you have the option to keep it hidden so that no one can see it (once again, you can change this anytime in "Edit Profile"). 

I have devised TWO ways in which you can be notified regarding new posts. 

1) If you start a NEW topic and you check the "Yes" box after the "Email Notify" instructions you will be notified when others respond.  If you join in on an already existing discussion you will NOT be notified ... so this choice is very limited as far as creating a group discussion feel.


2) If you desire to be notified of any new posts or replies I can set that up for you upon request.  Email me at The Shackmeister  Keep in mind that I can always undo this at a later time, if desired.

The program does use cookies for a few specific purposes, which means that you must have them enabled to use the Shack.  If you are concerned about any security issues regarding cookies please write and I'll explain it in more detail so that you can rest assured of the harmless nature of these particular ones.  You also need to have javascript enabled on your browser.  Unless you have specifically turned these off then both are probably already enabled.
