Responsibility & Obedience
If you want to stir up a good argument in most any setting just get on a soapbox and spout your views and ideas regarding responsibility and obedience. Oh no, this is not just a religious matter, for you’ve been resisting demands of obedience and trying to get off the hook of responsibility since you were a small child. If you don’t remember it in yourself, simply pay attention to the next irritating child you hear who won’t listen to mommy or daddy. Oh yeah, that was you. As you grew up, you discovered how to either creatively shirk your responsibilities or to get your part done so you could judge another for not doing his.
Yeah, but aren’t we supposed to DO something as Christians? Don’t we have to obey God and his word, the Bible? Does grace let us off the hook of responsibility or are we still expected to obey the commands of God? I ask, is this a Christian or Biblical issue … or are we still reasoning according to the logic we grew up with?
