Dogwood * Dogwood blossoms were absolutely everywhere in Tennessee! * 1024 x 768 * (88KB)
Laurel-Falls_020 * One of the hiking trips my sister took us on was in the Laurel Falls Park in Tennessee. The hiking trail runs right along the moutain stream so that I was given many opportunities to take photos. * 1024 x 768 * (53KB)
Laurel-Falls_052 * This was a beautiful spot that required numerous shots! * 1024 x 768 * (69KB)
Laurel-Falls_060 * The same place from the trail. * 1024 x 768 * (80KB)

Laurel-Falls_064 * The trail runs right along the water on those rocks. Every so often it was a little difficult to know exactly where the path was! :) * 1024 x 768 * (51KB)
Laurel-Falls_069 * This is right around the bend from that last shot. There's Sherri and I pausing for a quick photo shoot. * 1024 x 768 * (70KB)
Laurel-Falls_074 * At the end of this particular trail in the Laurel Falls Park lies the beautiful waterfall. * 1024 x 768 * (59KB)
Laurel-Falls_079 * This angled rock wall sits just to the right of the waterfall. * 1024 x 768 * (84KB)

Rhododendron * Rhododendrons grow profusely in these parts of the country (Tennessee). Being early spring we were fortunate to find this one tree in blossom. * 1024 x 768 * (50KB)
Roan-Mt_37 * Roan Mountain, Tennessee is the highest in the state (it's right on the border of North Carolina). This was taken near the top of the peak of over 5800 feet. * 1024 x 768 * (55KB)
Roan-Mt_50 * There's me sitting at the top of this particular peak. There were 2 others close by that were taller, though I don't know by how much. * 1024 x 768 * (55KB)

Rock-Creek_017 * Rock Creek Park had a somewhat strenous 6 mile trail. We hiked this on the last day of our vacation. Gorgeous! With all the waterfall pictures I take every so often I'll stop and notice a few other beautiful spots that help add up to the overall effect that makes the scenery so full. * 1024 x 768 * (68KB)
Rock-Creek_047 * Rock bed of the mountain stream. * 1024 x 768 * (79KB)
Rock-Creek_052 * The largest falls we came to along the Rock Creek trail. Somehow, I'm never satisfied until I check out all vantage points from which to view and shoot. See the top left of the falls? That's where the next shots are taken. * 1024 x 768 * (60KB)
Rock-Creek_062 * From the top of Rock Creek Falls. My wife used to caution me against such wild antics as crawling way off the path to find a good shot, but now she just sits quietly (well, at least I can't hear her) waiting for my safe return. I have noticed her shaking her head and rolling her eyes from time to time! :) * 1024 x 768 * (56KB)
