What if the religion of Christianity has simply designated Jesus as being its token-God much the same way other religions have theirs? source
Re: Salvation Information (the knowledge that saves us?)
How encouraging to hear this from you guys tonight :) Sometimes I think I'm the only one who rebelliously clings to the idea that my faith is only by the befuddling case that God has put it in me to believe. Crazy. It's an audacious thing to believe from the secular view ("why are YOU so special" - which I can understand) and also audacious from most churches' point of view ("you also have to show your faith by repenting, doing good works, and practicing 'holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord'"). But this simple idea - that it's God's revealing - is what I've come to think that true faith is - and only can be. So, there's no feeling intimidated and no boasting this. There's no being less if you don't get it right, and no being more if you do. But sometimes there's the satisfaction and comfort of hearing the truth - and knowing that you just heard it. Love to you both.
