Standing up for Jesus?

Submitted by theshovel

Do you believe that standing up for Jesus means that you need to go out and stir up trouble? If Christ was a peacemaker who was thought to be a troublemaker, then isn’t he the same in you right now? You don’t have to try to be a troublemaker in order to be perceived as one. Stand upon that which makes for peace in Christ, and you will eventually be hit from all sides as the one with the problem.

If you are trying to make a stand by preaching stuff like the Sermon on the Mount or blasting away at the religious community as Jesus did shortly before being crucified, you may believe you are doing as Jesus did, but you may be only trying to do what you think Jesus did. Speak of the reality of Christ and the new creation in him and you will testify to the same reality Jesus testified to when he walked the earth.

'……..but you may be only trying to do what you think Jesus did. Speak of the reality of Christ and the new creation in him and you will testify to the same reality Jesus testified to when he walked the earth.”

This seems to hold true in most of our interactions with others.we start wanting to correct what we perceive as error but this is almost always a trap.Paul puts it pretty clearly in 1 cor 1: “23but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 24but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

anything else and we might find ourselves back at that old tree of Good and evil.

So it would seem that there are many, many believers still hanging around that old tree. Thanks for this, my brother! yes

Random Shovelquote: Adequate has come (view all shovelquotes)

The shadow demanded that something real was needed, it declared that something real was coming. And then the one who was able to fulfill the need came! End of story. And since the adequate has come, there is no more need for the inadequate. source
