Sin, and Communion (aka. the Lord's Supper)

Okay, so it’s Wednesday, and it just hit me that some of you may be going to a mid-week worship service where you’ll be partaking in the “Lord’s Supper” or “Communion.” If not, Sunday will be here soon, and many will be gathered around the bread and the wine (or maybe grape juice) in order to evaluate themselves in the light of sin. Why does sin still get all the attention among those who have had it removed through the blood of Jesus? Oh that’s right, Jesus said, “This do, as often as you do it, in remembrance of sin.” Or was that, “… in remembrance of ME”? Yeah, that’s a switch, isn’t it? Never forget, that the ritual of the Lord’s Supper actually demands that sin has been taken out of the way. If the ritual means anything to you, it should be that it presents a black hole from which sin can no longer touch you!

puts a whole new Light on the issue doesn't it?  i LOVE that!  instead of focusing on the hopelessness and darkness of sin and death, we can rejoice in the thankfulness we have from Him that it has all been done away with by Him!  :)  a true celebration of communion and fellowship!  i have sooo appreciated and loved that over the years  about your encouragement concerning the Lord's Supper …. not to focus on the law of sin and judgment, but on the Spirit of Love and Life, Freedom and Deliverance, the New out of old, Life out of death, freed from sin and bondage to Purity, Righteousness all because of Jesus Christ, what He accomplished and Who He has made Us ~ Miracles of GOD found in Christ Jesus ~ true Treasure of value and worth!  :)

no need to focus and feel stuck by fear, guilt, shame, hopelessness of sin and death as if it is our reality still.  there has been a death and a resurrection and all things made New in Him … the same for those who are found in Him.  :)

ok ok … i could go on, but … i will hush now.  lol  i just really love what you shared here mr. shovel dude man!  :)  you inspire me and you get the wheels turning and i just roll on and on and … well … lovelovelove you more!  :)

If we were to hear those [Biblical] statements in view of the connected demands as to our new life in Christ, the idea of attempting to constantly review every possible principle in order to do the right thing would never fly. source
