Hard to Keep Believing?

Submitted by theshovel

Why do we think that living in the world makes it hard to believe the truth of Christ? Oh, I understand the struggle just as much as anyone, but I have come to realize that it’s all backward! Everything we face on a daily basis makes a false demand against a reality that is within us. Yes, within us.

Listen, the world might scream at you, or it might just stand in silence while it makes you think your faith hangs in the balances. Know this, though, that all it can do is demand that you NOT believe what you truly do know. It grates against the very living source of God within us, which is why we sense such a struggle. We don’t need to try to hold onto “faith” in the face of all this stuff, for if we will listen we will recognize that the spirit of this world is that which struggles to force us to deny what we really do miraculously believe. Call it for what it is: a LIAR.

What if it turned out that all this temporal stuff was actually a witness to the eternal reality within us? After all, the more we live, the more we know without a shadow of a doubt that it is all falling apart and passing away. None of it lasts. And the pain of it all is continually reinforcing the truth we know within us that true life is eternal. What we can see and touch and hear, that which appears to have substance, is the vapor …. the invisible, the unseen, is the true substance.

for we walk by faith and not by sight, for what we see with our physical eyes is temporary and fleeting.  our Faith is Sourced in the Eternal!  :)

"Christ in You, the Hope"

Very well written sir!

When you reached the point of saying "none of it lasts', I reminded me of the inward statement I have had in my spirit since my twenties. Its a statement of freedom since many feel compelled to put tremendous energy into things that simply will one day be shown as dung in comparison to that of knowing the Christ, growing in grace, dwelling in peace.

and yet we must roll a stone while we are here, we must improve things, build things, make considerations etc..but the reality is our make up is that of knowing and being loved by our God and then responding as an outflow in love for others.

Random Shovelquote: Christ, not the Bible is the life (view all shovelquotes)

I discovered that the Bible was not the life, but that it declared the life. I used to be in bondage to a book, but the book tells me that I am not in bondage to anything! I also discovered that Jesus is The Word of God.   source
